🖋️🖋️Sign Petition to Beat SB 1027 and SHARE!!📢📢
John,
I'm asking for an important favor from you today.
We need your help spreading this petition around the state.
So many of you have already signed and helped us build momentum to defend the initiative process in Oklahoma.
Republicans say this legislation protects voters from rural counties. But really, it takes power away from the people and protects Republican party bosses.
Let's show them that Oklahomans from every part of the state want the right to decide for themselves! Please share this petition far and wide.
You can sign the petition and will be offered an option to immediately share it on social media.
Last week the Oklahoma House passed SB1027, which dramatically limits Oklahomans' ability to collect signatures for state question petitions.
This means that state questions will cost more money to pass, and could even make them impossible.
That would leave State Questions up to the Republican Supermajority, where they can put their own agenda on the ballot, but leave the people out to dry.
This bill would've made the state questions that passed Medicaid Expansion and Medical Marijuana impossible.
OK Democrats are working with our partners in the State Senate to send a petition to Governor Stitt's desk urging him to VETO this bill.

The framers of the Oklahoma constitution called state questions "the first power reserved to the people," and now Oklahoma Republicans are trying to take it away.
This is a turning point in the rights of Oklahoma voters, who until now, have been able to exercise a right to oppose unpopular policies and bring the needs of everyday Oklahomans to a vote BY everyday Oklahomans.
We're asking you sign this petition to tell Oklahoma Republicans that we fight for our rights.
With Defiance,
Lauren Craig
