Loneliness doesn’t care who you are. But we do.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week - and it’s all about celebrating the power and importance of community. Our new research shows that over half the adults in the UK have experienced loneliness - and for 1 in 3 young people, it’s a regular thing.
BUT the good news is that for those who feel they belong to a community, feelings of loneliness were nearly three times lower than those that aren’t. Proof that connection makes a vital difference.

Make your Club a CALM Club
If you have a Club - whether it’s Friday night D&D sessions, 5-a-side kickabouts, or something totally off the wall like snail racing — why not make them a CALM Club?
Clubs is all about groups of people doing something amazing by connecting people. Their superpower is creating a supportive place where no conversation is off limits.

“Some of the loneliest times of my life have been on the rugby pitch surrounded by tens of thousands of people. A sense of belonging isn’t maths - it’s not about how many people you’re in a room with, it’s about connection and knowing there’s a group you can lean on, laugh with and sometimes cry with. Whether you’re in a club already and want to make sure you’re showing up for your members, or if you haven’t got a clue where to start, CALM, as always, have got your back.”
