Thanks to a lawsuit by America First Legal, all 15 counties in Arizona are now working with the Department of Homeland Security to verify the citizenship of nearly 50,000 federal-only voters who registered without providing proof of citizenship. Let that sink in: 50,000 people on our voter rolls - and we don’t know if they’re citizens. That’s how vulnerable our elections have become. Under current law, Arizona requires documentary proof of citizenship to vote in state and local elections - but due to a federal loophole, anyone who just checks a box can vote in our federal elections without ever proving they’re a U.S. citizen. That ends now. With the help of America First Legal, and under new executive orders from President Trump, every Arizona County Recorder is now legally obligated to verify citizenship - or remove ineligible voters from the rolls. But make no mistake: This is just the beginning. And to do see the job through - I must stay in office beyond 2026, because the Left is already gearing up to flip this seat and derail everything we’ve accomplished. This fight is personal for me. I didn’t run for the Arizona Senate to keep the status quo. I ran to restore the people's trust in our elections and guarantee that only legal, eligible citizens vote in our state and in our country. This latest settlement is proof that when we push back, we win. But the radical Left is livid. They want to keep the voter rolls wide open and full of loopholes.
