Hey everybody, it’s Ruben Gallego.
Maybe you’ve heard of Stephen Miller, maybe you haven’t. This is him:
Real “hall monitor” energy.
He’s a Trump deputy chief of staff, and he’s right up there on the list of most terrible people ever. Spews the most despicable drivel of anybody in this White House, and I’d be willing to bet that he’s got a hand in all the worst stuff Trump’s done since he took office.
Well, I rolled out a pretty common sense immigration and border security plan yesterday, and that bald headed prick is pretty wound up about it. I don’t really care what he thinks of my plan, though. The people of Arizona elected me to do this, and I’m determined to deliver for them.
We can secure the border, keep communities safe, prevent abuse, stop the cruelty, address root causes at the source, and uphold due process — and we can do all of that without harming our economy or millions of people who just want to work hard and pursue the American Dream.
We can do all that! Seriously! But people like Stephen Miller want to be cruel. They want to split up families. They want to shred the Constitution and turn Trump into a king. We all knew dudes like him when we were kids — the kind of guy who just wanted to be mean for the fun of it. Problem is, those guys usually don’t end up leading the country.
Stephen Miller, Trump, and a lot of the big right-wing voices on immigration don’t want to solve the problem. They want it to get worse and worse so they can take away more and more of our freedoms and accumulate power for themselves. It’s gross, but that’s not how it has to be.
We can fix problems in this country, and we can do it without compromising our values. That’s what I’m trying to do.
Guys like Stephen Miller are standing in our way, and I’m asking you to help me beat them.
Please, if you’ve got a minute, sign on to personally endorse my common sense immigration plan.

We really can secure the border, reform the asylum system, expand legal pathways to economic prosperity, bring people out of the shadows, and address the root causes of migration — and we don’t have to be cruel or violate the Constitution to do it.
Thanks for listening, I appreciate it.
Ruben
