Republicans in Congress are preparing to release the text of their reconciliation plan (aka “Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’”), and it looks like it’ll be as cruel and deadly as expected. Their plan could kick 14 million people off healthcare, take food assistance from 9 million families, force hospital closures, and kill jobs.

Vulnerable Republicans know their plan is extremely unpopular, but they won’t defy Donald Trump unless their constituents absolutely force them to. So we’ve GOT to drive calls from people in key states -- starting in North Carolina -- to their elected leaders. And we need your help to do it.

Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) represents a narrowly divided state where millions of hardworking folks rely on SNAP and Medicaid. That makes him particularly vulnerable to public furor at the Republican Tax Scam. If we make this reconciliation bill unpopular enough in North Carolina, Tillis himself could become politically toxic -- and he knows it.

But like all cowardly Republican lawmakers, Tillis won’t come out and oppose what Trump wants willingly. He hopes he can stay behind the scenes, release a few mealymouthed statements, and quietly help this bill pass without blowback.
