Legislative Update – May 13, 2025
Dear neighbors,
In these last weeks of the legislative session, the Capitol is full of students taking tours of the building and learning more about history and government from the wonderful staff at the Minnesota History Center. I was glad to take time to talk with students from Lincoln Center Elementary last Friday.
I also met with local leaders over the weekend to discuss Capitol priorities and yesterday visited with Minnesota Highway Patrol staff who had a 1979 Dodge St. Regis patrol car on the Capitol steps.

Last night, the House passed our Health, Children, and Families Budget bill on a bipartisan vote. DFLers are working to create a comprehensive health care system that works for people, our families, neighbors with disabilities, seniors, and everyone who calls Minnesota home. While Trump and Republicans try to gut access to social programs across the board, including sweeping cuts to programs like Medicaid and SNAP, DFLers are working to ensure everyone can get the care they count on.
