While temperatures in Gaza reach their peak, water systems have been destroyed, electricity to desalination plants has been cut, and families are being pushed to the brink of survival.
As part of our response to the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Project HOPE is regularly trucking clean water to IDP shelters and clinics to ensure families have access to safe drinking water. Without it, families would have to source water from unsafe sources or walk long distances to buy it at high prices.
Our teams have delivered over 1 million liters of clean water to more than 180,000 people - including families like Ilham's. Living in a crowded camp in Deir al-Balah, she told us:
"The water trucking provided by Project HOPE has saved our time and energy. ... It has comforted us that we are able to have clean, safe, and drinkable water. I drink it directly because the source is trusted, and I am sure that it is safe and clean."
