The anti-abortion movement has recently adopted a dangerous new tactic: weaponizing unreliable reports to deliberately inflate safety risks and block access to mifepristone, an FDA-approved medication, trusted in healthcare settings worldwide for its safety and efficacy. In fact, rigorous studies and decades of research have consistently shown mifepristone to be a safe and necessary medication for reproductive health care.

Washington Republicans are using misleading reports riddled with scientific inaccuracies and lacking credible sources to unjustly claim mifepristone is unsafe — only to introduce legislation to ban it outright.
