Here are 3 numbers you need to know as spending in the midterm elections ramps up:

$251.1 million. That’s how much the GOP spent to defeat Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate general election last year. It was the most expensive non-presidential election in U.S. history.

$56.1 million. That’s what the Republican National Committee raised in just the first 3 months of this year to fund GOP campaigns so they can maintain control in Washington.

4 seats. That’s the margin Republicans hold the Senate by. With Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted on the ballot, there’s no path to taking back the Senate that doesn’t run straight through Ohio.

We can’t allow Republicans to buy victory next year. If we’re going to defeat Jon Husted and flip the Senate blue, we need you to step up today and help us overcome this GOP spending. Can we count on you to pitch in?
