Kitsap County released a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified applicants for the provision of emergency shelter beds, serving Kitsap residents who have lost their permanent housing and/or need a temporary place to sleep. The Shelter Operations RFP focuses closely on delivery of services for one aspect of the Kitsap Homeless Crisis Response and Housing Plan.
It is anticipated that the County will contract with multiple eligible organizations to provide emergency shelter beds of various types.
Eligible applicants/recipients may include:
- City or County governments
- Tribes
- Public Housing Authorities
- Public and private IRS-certified nonprofit organizations 501(c)(3)
- Local development corporations
- Faith-based organizations
The contracted programs must adhere to the Consolidated Homeless Grant (CHG) Guidelines and the Kitsap County Grant Guidelines Handbook. Both documents are updated periodically.
To view the full shelter operations RFP, including important dates, eligible expenses, and eligible shelter types, visit the Housing and Homelessness website. Interested applicants should carefully review the RFP and the minimum program requirements for this funding.
