Hey John,
My name is Alex and I’m a Sunrise student organizer. I’m asking you to send any high school or college students you know to Sunrise’s program [[link removed]] so that we can spark a student organizing revival this summer and take back power in our society.
When I was in high school, rats fell out of our classroom ceilings and our hallways filled with floodwater. Politicians told us there was nothing we could do - I remember just feeling so powerless. That all changed with my first organizing campaign. Students won millions of dollars to fix our school and sparked dozens of victories across our state.

Today, the stakes are even higher - big oil oligarchs have bought our elections so they can burn down our futures and wage war abroad. We’re told the best we can do is comply and stay silent, but students must stand up to spark society-wide change.
This summer, Sunrise is hosting a virtual Student Organizer Training May 18 - June 17 [[link removed]] for high school and college students. We’ll spend our time together launching bold campaigns for next school year - including building towards mass student strikes in 2026. Program graduates can join us in Chicago in July with Sunrise student leaders across the country.
That’s why we need students you know to sign up for Summer Student Organizer Training [[link removed]] before the application deadline end of May 15. Think: relatives, family friends, neighbors, any young person you know who wants to join the movement to save our future. It takes 30 seconds to send a text; will you be part of building the mass movement the world has been waiting for?
In Solidarity,
Alex, Sunrise Student Organizer
