The Trump administration is relentless in its attacks on our immigrant neighbors. As detention centers become grossly overcrowded, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is finding new ways to continue its deportation machine by using hotels to temporarily detain immigrants. This is an unacceptable practice.

This week (August 19-23), Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC is joining other advocacy organizations across the country to say #NoHotelsforICE. We demand that U.S. hotel chains refuse to let ICE use their properties as jails for immigrants. Sign the petition here. ([link removed])

So far, several hotels have pledged to reject ICE requests to jail immigrants on their properties. This is a step in the right direction. Through this movement, we vow to make sure those that have released statements keep their commitments and they ensure that franchisees and staff do the same.

The more of us who raise the alarm, the more power we build to resist upcoming raids and put an end to ICE's dangerous collaboration with hotels!
