Help us ban UK plastic waste exports
Environmental Investigation Agency UK

Dear John,

If you care about the environment, the chances are you’re diligent about washing out yogurt pots and plastic milk cartons and putting them in the recycling bin.

We all want to do the right thing, but you might be surprised to hear where your plastic rubbish ends up.

Our recycling system hides a dirty secret.

The UK is one of the biggest plastic waste exporters in the world.

Every year, the UK dumps hundreds of millions of kilograms of plastic waste in places such as Türkiye, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam.

In a bid to achieve UK plastic recycling targets, our government buries our plastic problem in someone else’s back yard.

Will you give £15, or whatever you can afford, to help us fight to ban harmful plastic waste exports?

This toxic trade causes enormous harm to the environment, marine wildlife and human health. It threatens animals and ecosystems, and contaminates soil, air, water and food.

If, like us, you want to ensure that our government is prioritising people, wildlife and the environment over profit, please help us put an end to this trade today.

Will you donate £15 to help us fight to end harmful plastic waste exports and protect the environment and wildlife?

Your donation will help fund change. Thank you for your generous support and for investing in the kind of world we all want to see.

With best wishes.

Christina Dixon,
EIA Ocean Campaign Leader
