Virtual Lunchtime Comment Writing Party on FRIDAY, May 16 - Help Protect Endangered Species!

If this rule passes, logging, drilling, construction and more will be allowed without any review of the impacts on habitat for endangered or threatened species.

The Endangered Species Act is under threat, and we need your voice by May 19th.

For over 50 years, the ESA has been our most powerful tool for protecting wildlife and their habitats. Now, a concerning new rule proposes that habitat destruction would no longer count as "harm" under the Act.

What this means: Logging, drilling, construction, and other destructive activities could proceed without any review of their impacts on endangered species' habitats – undermining a cornerstone of wildlife protection.

Take Action with Us - Virtual Webinar

  • Date: Friday, May 16th (Endangered Species Day)
  • Time: 12:30 -  1:30 PM
  • Format: Virtual event - participate from anywhere!

Join former U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service expert Michael Horton and NVBA for this critical session where you'll:

  • Learn about ESA successes and why this matters
  • Understand the proposed rule's impact on wildlife
  • Draft and submit your own public comment (no experience needed!)
  • Connect with others who care deeply about habitat protection

The public comment period closes May 19th, making this webinar perfectly timed for your input to count. Review the rule here: https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-06746.pdf

Please forward this to anyone who values protecting critical bird habitat. Together, we can ensure habitat destruction remains recognized as the threat it truly is.
