Friend --

Dean is thrilled that his Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act is going to help more struggling small businesses stay afloat during this tumultuous time. But there's something Dean didn't mention in his last email:

The day President Trump signed the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act into law, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy endorsed Dean's Republican challenger for Congress.

With less than five months until Election Day, we need to raise money for Dean's reelection so he can achieve more victories like the one last week.

It's up to us to have Dean's back. Will you chip in to our campaign today?

Well-funded out-of-state groups like the National Republican Congressional Committee hand-picked a challenger for Dean's seat, and he's already getting air time from hatemonger Tucker Carlson and other Fox News pundits.

Dean will never give in to fear. He'll never take a dime from PACs, special interests, lobbyists or other members of Congress trying to sway him. He answers only to the people of Minnesota's 3rd District -- and you.

We can show the pundits that Dean's message of bipartisanship and inclusion is more powerful than fear. If you can, please chip in to Dean's campaign today.

Subject: A bipartisan victory for small businesses

Friend,

I ran for Congress to change the culture in D.C. I saw that the greatest challenge our nation faced -- the one that made all the others so hard to address -- was the lack of conversation between people with different worldviews.

That's why I was thrilled to be ranked the 27th most bipartisan member in the House of Representatives on the 2019 Lugar Bipartisan Index Rankings, which ranks members of Congress on their track record of reaching across the aisle. I believe that the more we reach out to those on the other side, the more we will accomplish.

My faith in bipartisanship paid off last week, when the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act, a bill I introduced with Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) to help struggling small businesses, was signed into law after passing in the House and Senate.

If you want to see more bipartisan victories that will move our country forward, I hope you'll consider making a donation to my 2020 campaign today.

Effective leadership starts with listening. After Congress passed the initial Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) legislation, I heard from too many small business owners in Minnesota who were not applying for PPP loans or who were afraid to use the funds because of the one-size-fits-all rules.

I co-wrote the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act to solve that. It allows PPP loan forgiveness for expenses beyond the initial eight-week period covered by the program and eliminates restrictions on how loan proceeds can be allocated. In short, it makes PPP loans more flexible, directly helping more small businesses stay afloat during this pandemic.

While I work to get our country through this crisis, I'm counting on your support to keep our 2020 campaign strong. If you can, I hope you'll chip in today.

In addition to helping small businesses through the coronavirus crisis, I'm pleased to see many leaders taking concrete steps to address the crisis of racial injustice that has plagued our country for generations. I've said it once, but it bears repeating: This is our legacy-making moment. I am optimistic that we will continue to have the conversations that will move our country forward. We can't afford not to.

Keep the faith,

Dean
