John,
Every year, around the state, hundreds of sewage spills occur. Yuck, right? If you’re wondering why you didn’t know this, it’s because even though the reports of these spills are public, they aren’t easy to find.
That’s why the state legislature passed our bill last month mandating the creation of a sewage spill website that will make it easy for people like you to know about spills that might make you sick, or ruin a beach trip.
Just one step remains: the governor needs to sign the bill.
Ask Governor Ferguson to sign HB 1670 – Sewage Spill Right to Know – into law [[link removed]]
Take action now! [[link removed]]
The deadline for action is approaching, and you can help pass this law by emailing Governor Ferguson. The final cost is less than a penny for every person in the state.
Help make sure the public knows about sewage spills and urge Governor Ferguson to sign HB 1670 into law! [[link removed]]
We think it’s time to join at least 10 other states with Sewage Spill Right to Know laws and regulations, including South Carolina and Connecticut. Washington shouldn’t be in last place when it comes to sewage.
Thank you for all you do,
