Governor Gordon Gets Insights into Rare Earth Production
Upton Tour

Governor Gordon joined elected officials and leadership from Rare Element Resources for a tour of the Company’s rare earth project site in the Bear Lodge Mountains near Sundance, as well as the company's processing and separation demonstration plant in Upton.

The Governor noted that Wyoming is well-positioned to help create a domestic supply chain for rare earth elements, which are need to meet growing demand for technology and energy applications.






Education Initiatives in Action in Park County
Reading Challenge

Governor Gordon recently visited Park County School District #1 in Powell, where he saw firsthand the results of several education initiatives aimed at preparing students for success in school, careers and life. Parkside Elementary School was named a 2024 Blue Ribbon School, while  Southside Elementary won the 2024 Governor’s Reading Challenge, a program that recognizes schools for participation and the number of books read.

The Governor’s Powell tour concluded with a visit to Powell High School, where he met with members of the award-winning robotics team and toured the school’s student-centered art displays. The projects showcased a blend of creative technical skills, including electrical wiring and taxidermy. Read more *about the Governor's visit here [ [link removed] ]. *

Workforce Development Programs In the Spotlight at Northwest College Visit
CDL Training NWC

A visit to Northwest College in Powell had Governor Gordon touring the college's Center of Training Development, which is utilizing the former Wyoming National Guard Armory in Powell for programs including CDL training. 

The Governor also stopped by the newly completed Student Center, ate lunch with students and visited the new outdoor education lab, home of the NWC Outdoor Education program with an academic lab, climbing wall and classrooms. The lab will be used as part of the school’s Outdoor Recreation and Leadership degree program, *created in partnership with Governor Gordon’s WIP initiative [ [link removed] ],* with a goal of developing leaders in the region’s tourism industry.  




Governor Gordon Talks Energy Exports in Gillette

In* remarks to the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce this week* [ [link removed] ], Governor Gordon discussed his recent trip to Japan and Taiwan and the state's efforts to open additional export markets for Wyoming energy. 

"What Wyoming has demonstrated is leadership across the energy sector in a way that makes our energy preferable to any other energy (these countries) can get from Australia, from Indonesia, even from our neighbors in the southeast. We are poised at an opportune time."






Governor Gordon Joins Arbor Day Celebration
Arbor Day 2025

In 1888, the Wyoming Territorial legislature established Wyoming’s official Arbor Day. The Governor joined the Wyoming State Forestry Division, Wyoming Project Learning Tree, US Forest Service, Wyoming BLM, and multiple state agencies for Wyoming's 137th Arbor Day celebration, planting a tree on the Supreme Court lawn.
