We reached out last week with an update about Lucy’s newest bill: her effort to reinstate the bipartisan assault weapons ban of 1994.

This common-sense policy was endorsed by former presidents Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan and will actively prevent the unnecessary deaths of Americans from gun violence.

But let’s be real about Republican priorities: they’ve made it clear time and time again that gun violence prevention isn’t one of them, and they’ve gone after Lucy for attempting to make change. They even tried to redraw her district to kick Lucy out of Congress entirely.
