What do you believe Democratic governors should focus on this year and in 2026?

Folks, this has been a trying time for the American people.

There’s no question the Trump administration’s tariff policies are wrecking our economy, raising prices, and making it more difficult for Americans to get by and to pay bills at the end of the month.

We’ve seen massive firings of important parts of the federal government, like the National Weather Service that keeps us safe by giving us notice before major weather events. And we have alarming threats to Medicaid, which would decimate rural health care and make it more difficult for everybody to see their doctor or pay for that next prescription.

But I believe that there is still hope for leaders to stand up and say: Let’s focus on people’s jobs, and whether or not they make enough to support their families. Let’s focus on people’s next doctor’s appointments for themselves, their parents, or their kids. Let’s focus on the roads and bridges that people drive every day. Let’s focus on the quality of public education. And let’s make sure everyone is safe and feels safe in their communities.

Because real leadership brings people together and never turns us against one another. That’s how we survive this administration. It’s the kind of leadership Democratic governors are committed to every single day. But we need your help to elect more of these leaders.

As a second-term governor, Andy Beshear has a long record of accomplishments. He has restored voting rights to nearly 200,000 Kentuckians, secured low-cost health care for tens of thousands, had the best economic development year on record, and had the lowest unemployment rate in state history. He won his first election by just 5,136 votes and his second by 5 percentage points because Kentuckians and folks across the country know that he will work every day to make Americans lives better from jobs, to infrastructure, health care, public education, and so much more.

Now he’s serving as DGA Vice Chair to continue the fight for progress by electing Democratic governors across the country.
