Friends,

Medicaid protects low-income and at-risk Americans, including children, pregnant mothers, the elderly, and the disabled.

And right now, the program is struggling to survive the current crisis.

NPR reports that, “State Medicaid directors say that without immediate funding, many of the health facilities that serve Medicaid patients could close permanently.”

Medicaid officials from both sides of the aisle have already written the federal government to ask for help -- but have gotten no response. If Medicaid goes under, it means the 40% of children across America protected by the program would lose their coverage.
