As President of the Senate, Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears is legally required to sign bills passed by the legislature…and she had some thoughts when it came to our amendment to enshrine reproductive freedom in the Virginia Constitution.
As reported by Virginia Mercury, Earle-Sears – who is running for governor THIS November – scrawled down a comment next to her signature making it clear that she is opposed to our efforts to protect reproductive rights, including abortion, IVF, and contraception access, stating: “I am morally opposed to this bill; no protection for the child.”
