Dear Friend — today, New Orleans will begin the second phase of slowly and safely reopening.
Since the beginning of the first stay-at-home order, Mayor Cantrell and her team have kept a close eye on the data to determine how long restrictions will be needed, and when they can be eased. Our city continues to make progress when it comes to available testing, effective contact tracing, ample hospital capacity, and a decreasing number of cases.
However — this is still a dangerous pandemic. Please continue doing the things that prevent the spread of this virus. During Phase Two, seniors and people with medical conditions should continue to stay home. Everyone is still required to wear masks in public, and gatherings will still be limited with restrictions.
