These are our plans to mark the 80th anniversary of nuclear weapons. We need your help to make sure it’s one of the last.

Dear Friend,

If you’ve read the news recently, you will have seen that the geopolitical situation is far from peaceful and that the risk of nuclear weapons use - intentional or by accident - continues to increase. Tense times like these remind us what is at stake and that we can’t let governments get away with their lack of action in terms of nuclear disarmament. This is yet another proof that 80 years of nuclear weapons are enough and it’s high time to fix it once and for all.

The only way to succeed is to tell the story of what nuclear weapons really are and what they do to our communities and the environment. We need to listen to the testimonies of affected people from around the world, from New Mexico to Japan, and ensure as many people as possible hear them, understand the impact of nuclear weapons and take action. We cannot do this without you!

Support ICAN's work

Trump’s artificial economic war happening in the midst of an international financial crisis has led many governments and foundations to cut nuclear disarmament funding. Thus, support from individuals like you becomes crucial to do the many things we have in mind. Monthly contributions, even modest ones, greatly strengthen our stability and capacity to plan ahead and make a big difference in our work. Will you help power our work in this crucial year?

Artists Against the Bomb series during a walking exhibition in New
York

It will be a busy summer and our activities include commemoration events at the Trinity site in July, the launch of a unique online memorial dedicated to the children who died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and attending formal ceremonies and conferences in Japan to mark the anniversaries of the bombings.

Moreover, we will share online campaign resources, host local art exhibitions and provide our partners with materials highlighting one message:

For 80 years, the world has lived under the shadow of nuclear weapons. It's time to say: enough!

Thank you for your support.
