Dear Friend,
 
It is an enormous privilege to have been elected the Leader of the Liberal Party. I am humbled by the support of my colleagues and together we will work every single day to rebuild trust with the Australian people.
 
We need to respect the election result and reflect with humility. We listened to the Australian people and we will continue to listen to them. 
 
We have to have a Liberal Party that respects modern Australia, that reflects modern Australia and that represents modern Australia. We need to meet the people where they are, and that's what I am committed to doing. 
 
Our party room will go forward together, to develop a clear, articulate policy agenda. 
 
Since coming to this country as a young girl, I have never stopped feeling grateful for this country. 
 
I was able to pursue my dream of flying, becoming an aerial stock mustering pilot. 
 
I’ve worked in the shearing sheds, learning the value of a hard day's work and of the dignity of manual labour. I always respected the wisdom of the shearers and I love it when I see this wisdom across our country. 
 
I raised my three children on the family farm in tough years, went on to study when I was in my 30s pursuing three degrees, including a master's in tax law.
 
I found my pathway into politics, aligning with the Liberal values of hard work, effort, reward and opportunity. 
 
At the next election we will have a strong policy offering, based on these values.
 
Recently, many people came to polling booths feeling disappointed and let down by us. 
 
We must learn from that, and take the time to get it right. I'm committed to doing that. 
 
It is time to step up, regroup and rebuild for the Australian people.
