Dear Jack,
Since time immemorial, Indigenous Shompen people have lived and thrived on Great Nicobar Island, a paradise of tropical forests and golden beaches in the Indian Ocean. They still do.
But not for long. The Indian government is pushing ahead with a $9 billion plan to turn their island into the “new Hong Kong.” The lush rainforests, and Shompen homes, will be bulldozed.

In their place will rise a city of 650,000 people, a mega-port handling 16 million freight containers a year, and a military base bristling with weapons. A massive new airport will bring a million tourists to this former paradise.
Stop the Shompen's Genocide ([link removed])
The Indigenous Shompen, most of whom are uncontacted, will not survive this catastrophic transformation of their island home. Leading genocide scholars, as well as a group of renowned Indian experts and even the government’s own studies, have said it will destroy them.
I'll act now ([link removed])
As part of our global campaign to stop the project, we’ve published a new report and sent it to top officials and human rights bodies at the UN. “Crushed: How India plans to sacrifice one of the world’s most isolated tribes to create “the new Hong Kong” is a rallying cry for the survival of the Shompen.
No “development” project can justify a genocide. The Shompen can’t stop this by themselves – they need you to stand up too. Please, Jack, urge the Indian government to scrap this disastrous scheme before it’s too late.
I'll help pressure the government ([link removed])
