Ya'at'eeh John, it’s Jonathan Nez, former president of the Navajo Nation. Today, I am proud to endorse Democrat Deb Haaland for governor of New Mexico.
Deciding to support Deb Haaland’s campaign was an easy decision. We have a lot in common: we both value our Native heritage, our public service, and our deep roots in the Southwest—and we believe in fighting fiercely for the communities that have too often been left behind.
I’m about to tell you why I believe in Deb, but if you’re short on time, she needs our help to build the kind of grassroots campaign that can overcome the right-wing megadonors lining up to stop her. Will you rush a split donation between our campaigns today?
I’ve had the honor of working alongside my good friend Deb Haaland and I know she’s the experienced leader who will fight for the change that all New Mexicans need and deserve.
Deb has the network, lived experience, and executive leadership to bring real change to New Mexico. A Laguna Pueblo woman, She was the first Native American to serve as cabinet secretary and her commitment to fight for every community has made us all proud.
Over the years, she has worked tirelessly to make her home, New Mexico, stronger. From the halls of Congress to the Department of Interior, she has always remained committed to serving the people of New Mexico.
Now, she’s stepping up to lead once more. As the former president of the Navajo Nation, I know what it means to answer the call to serve. But Deb Haaland has never backed down from a tough fight, and she won’t start now—not with the people of New Mexico counting on her.
I believe in Deb Haaland. But she can’t do it alone. So I’m asking you to split a donation between us to help build a people-powered movement strong enough to win this race and deliver a better future for New Mexico. >>
