DOJ has just three lawyers left, watchdog estimates

- The number of attorneys in the DOJ’s voting section dropped from 30 to three, according to one group’s estimate provided to Democracy Docket. It came amid reports that the department will no longer work to protect voting rights. A former DOJ attorney warned ([link removed] ) the change could lead to “fewer people having access to vote.”

New York AG Letitia James becomes latest target of Trump’s revenge tour

- The Trump administration opened ([link removed] ) an investigation into New York Attorney General Letitia James, one of President Donald Trump’s foremost adversaries.

- James won a $454 million judgement by suing Trump and his family over allegations of fraudulent business practices. For years, she has been among several Democratic state attorneys general to challenge Trump’s policies.

Wyoming’s version of SAVE Act would lower turnout even further

- On Friday, Wyoming was sued ([link removed] ) over its Trump-style voter suppression law. HB 156 requires strict proof of citizenship just to get on the rolls, which will disenfranchise thousands in a state with already low voter turnout, according to the new lawsuit.

Trump nominates Fox News host for top DC prosecutor

Oral argument coming up tomorrow

- Tomorrow, the 11th Circuit will hear arguments in Fair Fight's appeal ([link removed] ) in a case challenging True the Vote's voter intimidation tactics in Georgia. A federal judge ruled that True the Vote did not violate Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act, but said the data practices they used to challenge voters “utterly lacked reliability.”
