Atlas Network

Patriot,

My beloved professor, George Ayittey, characterized the fight for Africa’s future as a fight between Hippos and Cheetahs.

But what does this mean?

Hippos are complacent, greedy bureaucrats wallowing in the muck.
Cheetahs are fast-moving, entrepreneurial leaders and citizens.

Hippos wait for politicians to empower them.
Cheetahs take their futures into their own hands.

Hippos lazily complain about colonialism yet do nothing to change the status quo.
Cheetahs seek to shift the prevailing narrative — no more victimhood or dependency.

Like my professor, I believe Africa's hopes rest on the “Cheetah Generation” — the dynamic young entrepreneurs who will usher in an economic renaissance.

The evidence is clear that entrepreneurship, combined with clear and transferable property rights, the rule of law, and economic freedom, is crucial to the creation of prosperity anywhere.

That’s why I’ve partnered with Atlas Network.

Atlas Network is the world's leading organization promoting economic freedom in developing nations. They have an amazing network of human beings and partner organizations and a deep body of research that demonstrates an understanding of the prerequisites for prosperity on a global scale.

You can support Atlas Network’s efforts to promote economic freedom and to build the capacity for reforms that lead to broad-based prosperity worldwide.

The combination of negative perceptions of Africans, combined with widespread ignorance regarding the need for economic freedom, is a toxic combination.

Perhaps the most unique challenge we face is that the world has come to perceive that Africans themselves are not capable of creating prosperity — and require charity in order to survive.

This simply isn’t true.

I believe Africa's future will be defined not by its painful history but by the boundless potential of its people.

Like the swift cheetahs, the people here are aggressive in pursuing opportunities and laser-focused on the results of “catching their prey.”

We are showcasing African solutions to African problems. We’re leveraging technology to create jobs and build globally competitive brands. And we’re applying our energy to unlocking the continent's vast wealth and human capital.

Helping Cheetahs improve the climate for free enterprise requires an equally swift response.

With 51 active organizational partners in Africa, Atlas Network is well-positioned to engage local civil society groups that are working to solve complex issues with home-grown solutions that address local needs.

Please donate $10, $50, $100, $250, or any amount you can to support Atlas Network and strengthen the worldwide freedom movement today.
