Hi John — it’s Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez.
I’ll be frank with you: in a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip in anything you can to fuel our resistance against the Trump-Musk agenda here in Wisconsin.
But first, I want to reintroduce myself, and share a little bit about why I’m in this fight for our state’s future.

I grew up in Brookfield, just outside Milwaukee. My mom was a special ed assistant and a Girl Scout troop leader. My dad fixed telephones for Wisconsin Bell. We didn’t have a lot — my parents started out in a trailer park — but they made sure we had what we needed, even if it meant putting Christmas clothes on layaway or moving to a better school district they could barely afford.

From a young age, I worked hard — babysitting, working the front counter at the dry cleaner, waiting tables to help pay for college. I got my degree in neuroscience and joined the Peace Corps, and eventually became a nurse, working in public health. I’ve served in the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service and helped communities recover after disasters like Hurricane Katrina.

But my proudest work has been right here at home: caring for my dad when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, raising two amazing kids, and fighting to make our health care system work better for Wisconsin families. I’ve lived what it’s like to battle the Medicaid system just to get my dad the care he needed. I’ve seen how broken things are — and how hard it is for people to make ends meet under the toughest circumstances.
I’m in this to make government work again. For the caregivers. The nurses. The working moms balancing it all. The young people just trying to get by. For the Wisconsinites who show up, help their neighbors, and expect their leaders to do the same.
John, every grassroots dollar we raise helps defend our communities against Trump, Musk, and the MAGA horde making our country look unrecognizable right now. Can you chip in today to fuel our fight for a Wisconsin that works for everyone — not just the ultra-rich and well-connected?
