Protect Clean Electricity and Transportation

Less pollution, healthier homes, cheaper electricity

Three years ago, EDF Action members like you, John, sent over 60,000 messages to Congress — by email, phone and constituent meetings — and pushed the Inflation Reduction Act over the finish line.
This incredible feat sets aside trillions of dollars to lower costs, cut pollution and rocket the United States into a clean electricity future.
Yet, Republican Congressional leaders are looking to repeal or diminish these funds and strip money from efforts like:

|
|
|
- Making our homes healthier, safer and cheaper to live in through community programs and tax credits for home energy efficiency upgrades like heat pumps, rooftop solar and better insulation;
- Lowering energy costs for homes and businesses through tax incentives allowing consumers to switch to clean, affordable electricity;
- Saving consumers thousands of dollars on new and used electric vehicles through tax credits, making them more accessible than ever before and slashing a major source of air pollution;
- Investing in rural small businesses and farmers by providing funds to cover upfront costs of upgrading buildings with better energy efficiency measures, installing clean electricity (like wind) and making the switch to electric equipment; and
- Protecting our communities from harmful air pollution by investing in pollution-free transportation — like electric school and transit buses, garbage trucks and cargo-handling equipment at ports, along with shore power for ships.
