$2B frozen. Visas threatened. Harvard fires back.
The Trump administration just hit Harvard with a trifecta:
Froze $2 billion in research funding
Threatened international student visas
Targeted their tax-exempt status
That’s not oversight.
That’s a warning shot.
So Harvard’s faculty answered—loudly.
With a letter stating that they won’t bend.
Faculty have pledged $2 million of their own salaries to support the university.
Their goal?
Defend academic freedom.
Protect vulnerable students.
And show the country what it looks like when intellectuals stop being polite and
start getting real.
Not to be dramatic, but attacks on schools have historically been a sign of
rising fascism.
If a school that powerful can be punished for resisting, what happens to every
smaller college and public university that follows?
We can’t let these things become normal.
If we do, things will get a whole lot scarier.
And it’s starting now.
