On one hand, the suspension of habeas corpus and steps to cosplay as a dictator by imprisoning elected officials will help Trump consolidate power and entrench the fascist movement he is working hard to cement.
On the other hand, these risky moves greatly overextend him and run a massive risk of alienating independent voters. If properly capitalized upon, these gross overreaches stand to yield unheard of gains for Democrats in the upcoming 2026 midterms.
This past Spring, National Ground Game put ourselves on the map as the biggest outside player in the Florida Special elections. In fact we played a bigger role, spending more and sending more people to these races, than the National Democratic party and Florida Democratic Party combined (check their FEC reports). We refuse to leave any district, no matter how red, uncontested.
Come hell or high water we will be ensuring that voters in swing districts know about Trump’s fascist overreach. And we won’t be getting this info to voters via digital-ad money pits either… we’ll be relaying this critical information to voters at their doors with real life human canvassers.
