This is an email series highlighting the risks that refugees and internally displaced people are facing as a result of recent funding cuts.

-------------------------------

Dear John,

The impact of the funding cuts is still unfolding, affecting the people we serve every day. Thanks to your support throughout this series of emails, whether through kind words or generous gifts, we have been able to reach families during this time of deep uncertainty.

Hawa, a Sudanese refugee at the Kurmuk Transit Centre in Ethiopia, fled violence with her ten children and her 80-year-old mother. Thanks to supporters like you, the family has found safety and care.

Ethiopia remains a place of refuge for people displaced by conflict in the region. At the transit centre where Hawa is staying, UNHCR and partners are doing everything possible to provide shelter, food, clean water, and emergency healthcare, but the needs are urgent and growing.

As we reflect on Mother’s Day, we think of strong mothers like Hawa, whose resilience and courage inspire us all. With your help, we can continue to stand by families like hers, bringing hope when it’s needed most.
