It was a power evening, where we had the privilege of honoring some truly incredible people in the reproductive freedom movement, including feminist activist and author Jessica Valenti, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell, birthFUND’s Elaine Welteroth, the Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR), and Mila Atmos, executive producer and host of the podcast Future Hindsight.

Support from people just like you helps NIRH and our partners achieve critical policy wins across the US. Just in the past year NIRH has: 

• Supported a coalition-led proposal in Maryland that puts $25 million towards abortion care and will continue to be funded through surplus insurance premiums that can ONLY be used for abortion services. If signed into law, this will fund the Public Health Abortion Grant Program WITHOUT using taxpayer dollars.   
• Helped shape a legal victory in Arizona that resulted in a Maricopa County Superior Court judge permanently blocking Arizona’s 15-week abortion ban under the state's 2024 constitutional amendment. This was a monumental moment for Arizonans who VOTED for abortion access in November 2024 and now get to see this cruel ban stricken down.   
• Led advocacy efforts in New York state to embed emergency pregnancy care (EMTALA) into state law. Our Action Fund is also continuing to push Governor Hochul to sign the Health Information Privacy Act to protect New Yorkers’ electronic health data from law enforcement and tech companies like Meta.  

Our work is far from over. Opponents of reproductive freedom continue to escalate their attacks, using every tool available to restrict access, criminalize providers, and roll back fundamental rights. But with your help, we know we can fight for a society in which everyone has the freedom and ability to control their reproductive and sexual lives.
