AFA will stand strong and not surrender

DearJohn xxxxxx,

Basing its action on the opinion of a discredited leftist organization, Vimeo (vimeo.com) is claiming that AFA is a "hate group."

Vimeo told AFA that no one can have an account on its site "if you are a member of a terror or hate group." When AFA protested that it was neither, Vimeo responded with a letter that stated that AFA was, in fact, a hate group as determined by Southern Poverty Law Center.

I've written to you before about SPLC. It's the infamous Montgomery, Alabama-based, leftist organization that scours the nation looking for groups that refuse to embrace homosexuality from a secular "progressive" perspective.

SPLC used lies and gross over-characterizations in developing a “hate map” of organizations in America – AFA among them. We are still trying to resolve this issue with Vimeo, but at this point, it looks like Vimeo will side with SPLC and ban AFA.

Humanists and atheists have been working for at least the last six decades to smear and nullify Christianity’s influence on American culture.

The question is this: Are we Christians going to stand strong for the truth of the gospel in our nation, or are we going to surrender America's spiritual and moral future to the God-haters?

I am not ashamed to say that I love America because it was founded on Christian principles. So I take seriously the damage that has been done to our great nation by these God-hating humanists.

AFA will continue to stand for righteousness and against those who want to destroy America as we have known it.

That's why, with both humility and boldness, I ask for your prayers and your financial support.

I'm not asking for myself or even for AFA. I'm asking so that our children and grandchildren might live in a nation where the freedoms that flow from following Christ are enjoyed by everyone in ways that honor God.

In appreciation of your support, I want to offer you a tool that can be an aid in improving your prayer life – and don't we all need that? The AFA Prayer Journal is an attractive softcover book that’s perfect for recording prayer concerns. The journal includes 80 doubled-sided, lined pages, providing plenty of space to record prayer lists as well as sermon notes and observations from your personal Bible study. The AFA logo imprinted on the front cover is a reminder of our partnership in working for gospel renewal in America.

Sincerely,

Tim Wildmon
President, American Family Association
