We are excited to share a pivotal moment in our fight against human trafficking: HTI is launching our proven model in Kenya.

In 2023, the U.S. government put HTI’s work at the top of its list of high-impact anti-trafficking interventions receiving U.S. funding over the past 10+ years. In partnership with the Kenyan government, HTI is poised to bring this proven, high-impact model to Kenya.

Kenya has strong anti-trafficking laws, but enforcement gaps allow traffickers to act with impunity. Having transformed Uganda’s justice system—achieving a 979% increase in trafficker prosecutions—we’re now partnering with the Kenyan government to drive systemic change.

Today, the Director of Public Prosecutions in Kenya, Renson Ingonga, signed a Partnership Agreement with HTI CEO, Victor Boutros, marking a significant advancement in our collaboration. The key goals of this partnership are enhanced cooperation, improved prosecution outcomes, and long-term capacity building within the Kenyan justice system.
