Yesterday, I spoke to a crowd of friends, constituents, and engaged citizens in Cincinnati at the Democracy Day rally. As always, it was great spending time in my city — and to get to tell folks directly about how we’re showing up for them in Washington.
There’s a big fight in the week ahead, friends. On Tuesday, Republicans plan to bring a bill to the Energy and Commerce Committee that will take away healthcare for tens of millions of people. All to pay for tax cuts for the uber wealthy.
It’s as ridiculous and cruel as it sounds. These healthcare cuts would be devastating and deadly. They need to back away.
But I want you to know: we’re fully prepared for this fight. We’ll keep them there for days if we have to. They’re packing their sleeping bags.
My colleagues and I are gearing up for a tough week, but I’m not one to back down from a fight — especially when things like healthcare, social security, and food assistance are on the line. — Your support is never overlooked.
