Calling for Transparency: Criminal Alien Data and State Reimbursements Last year, I received data from the Biden administration confirming over 662,000 illegal aliens with criminal histories were on ICE's docket. During this week's House Appropriations Committee hearing, I asked DHS Secretary Kristi Noem for updated numbers regarding how many convicted criminal aliens we still have at large in our country. Secretary Noem revealed to me that the Trump administration believes there are more than 662,000 criminal illegal aliens in our country. Congress holds the power of the purse, we need to use every resource at our fingertips to deport criminals who have no business in our country. To watch round 1 of Rep. It's the federal government's job to enforce our nation's border and immigration laws. When the Biden administration failed to act, the Lone Star State stepped up. It's only fair to reimburse Texas for securing the border when the federal government went AWOL. I shared this concern with Secretary Noem during the hearing this week. It’s time for reimbursement, accountability, and lasting solutions.
