Every day, I wake up grateful for all the mothers and mother figures in my life. It was my own mother who instilled in me the principles of hard work and responsibility, values I’ve taken with me all the way from childhood to now representing Virginia’s 10th in Congress.
And now, more than ever, it’s important to support our moms. That means fighting to save Medicare and Medicaid, taking the strain off of the many mothers who were laid off from their federal jobs, and ensuring moms are set up for success at every level.
I’m pledging to every mother across the Commonwealth: I will always fight for you. Not just on Mother’s Day, but every day, year-round.
Shout-out to all of the moms and mother figures for all that you do.
