619.
John, I keep a clock on my desk that tells me how many days I have left in my term in office.
It reminds me: do not waste a day. I was elected by the people and I need to do everything I can to help Maryland.
There are 619 days left until my first term is up. So I’m being intentional about how I make change.
That means doing things like raising the minimum wage in Maryland. Gone should be the days when you have people who are working jobs — or multiple jobs — and still live at or below the poverty line.
That means making truly historic investments in childcare. Because no parent should have to decide between whether their kid will be okay, or if they can go back to the workforce.
Look, John, my reelection campaign is about the same thing as my first election: you. When I first ran for governor, I was up against the political establishment. But I had something different — the people.
We’re building a movement that will win this decade and help future Marylanders thrive. That’s the only way we’ll continue this important work.
Elevate,
Wes Moore
