I wanted to reach out, personally, to share my story – what inspired me to run for Congress in 2024 and why I’m running for re-election in 2026. If you don’t have time to read the rest of my note (and that’s okay!), can I count on you to pitch in a few dollars to our grassroots campaign?

I grew up in a working-class family as the granddaughter of a police officer and the daughter of two teachers. When I was a child, my interest in engineering led to a college scholarship to study electrical engineering. After working for General Motors, I transitioned to running a small business with my husband, Mark, operating four restaurants in our community.

It was actually my mom that first inspired me to run for office. I’ll never forget the conversation we had when she said, "If your generation doesn't stand up and fight, we stand to lose the progress my generation worked for."

Today in Congress, that’s exactly what I’m doing – standing up and fighting for progress. And with Donald Trump and Elon Musk undermining our nation’s very foundation every day, it’s clear our fight is far from over.
