I know it’s been a tumultuous few months since Donald Trump retook office as president. He and his administration have brought chaos, confusion, and incompetence every day since his inauguration.

Luckily, Democratic governors are fighting back.

STAND WITH DEM GOVS
Democratic governors like myself refuse to sit idly by in the face of the extreme Trump administration’s attacks. We’re ready to use every tool at our disposal – including taking Trump to court – to stop them.

Just take a look at some of the actions Dem govs have taken so far:

Maine Gov. Janet Mills filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for overreaching his authority and illegally freezing funds that go to feeding children in Maine – and she won!
California Gov. Gavin Newsom filed a lawsuit against Trump’s tariffs for disrupting supply chains, inflating costs, and inflicting billions of dollars in damages to his state’s economy.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is also suing over Trump’s tariffs – along with 11 other states – saying his “reckless tariffs have skyrocketed costs for consumers and unleashed economic chaos across the country."
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is leading a lawsuit, along with 22 other states, to prevent the Trump administration’s cuts to lifesaving medical and scientific research.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore filed a lawsuit to stop Trump and billionaire Elon Musk’s mass firings of critical federal workers.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump and his administration to stop them from dismantling the Department of Education, cutting critical public school funding, and hurting Wisconsin kids.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear joined a multi-state lawsuit against the Trump administration over cuts to health departments around the country by billionaire Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro sued the administration for withholding $2.1 billion from state agencies – and got every dollar unfrozen.
And the Democratic Governors Association is even suing Donald Trump over his dangerous Executive Order aimed at undermining our election system.
Trump’s actions in his second term have been chaotic, reckless, and unconstitutional. It’s a complete betrayal to the American people. But I won’t let Trump or his extreme cronies continue with their attacks – and I know my fellow Democratic governors won’t either.

The truth is, if we’re going to stop Trump from singlehandedly destroying our country, we need to elect Democratic governors who will serve as the essential guardrails against extremism in the states, but they can’t deliver without support from grassroots Democrats like you.

So can we count on you to support our fight and be one of the 50,000 grassroots Democrats we need from across the country to stand with the Dem govs against Donald Trump and his extreme administration? Your support has never been more important than it is in this moment, Laura.
