Hi friends,
Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll be spending the day with my wife, Susan, the mother of our three daughters, Caroline, Halina, and Anne, and, of course, Bandit and Captain Flint!
Susan has spent her career advocating for land preservation and sustainability here in Colorado. She is the backbone of our family and the best mother I could imagine for our girls. I'm endlessly in awe of her.

While we spend the day celebrating all the mothers and maternal figures in our lives, we also recognize the many challenges they face in our country.
In an economy that has been stacked in favor of folks at the top, too many moms are struggling to stay afloat and support their families.
That’s why I am working to expand the Child Tax Credit permanently, so more moms and families can benefit. When we passed an enhanced Child Tax Credit in 2021, it became one of the most significant tax cuts for working families in American history. It helped cut childhood poverty nearly in half and gave moms some breathing room at the end of every month. After we passed it, Colorado moms told me repeatedly how the monthly tax credit reduced their stress and helped them afford rent, food, and school supplies.
Unfortunately, Republicans in the Senate blocked us from making that tax cut permanent. But, 12 states—mostly led by Democratic governors—stepped up and passed state versions of the expanded Child Tax Credit. In Colorado, we passed a tax credit for working families of up to $3,200 for young children and up to $2,400 for children between 6-16 years old.
I’ll continue to do everything I can to support moms and maternal figures in Colorado and across the country by pushing for the policies that improve their lives. If you are with us, add your name to our petition demanding that Washington permanently expand the Child Tax Credit. >> [[link removed]]

Together, we can end childhood poverty and build an economy that works for everyone.
Happy Mother’s Day,
