Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers reading this.
We recognize that today can be especially difficult for mothers who have lost a child.
For those who have lost children to the overdose crisis, Mother’s Day can be one of the most painful days of the year. That’s why we recently joined Broken No More to honor those mothers, their children, and every family impacted by overdose.
Together, we sent an open letter to President Trump and Congress asking for a health-first approach to the overdose crisis. Over 700 family members who have lost loved ones to overdose signed on in support—and that number continues to grow.

To everyone who signed: we are so deeply grateful. Your response to our call has been overwhelming. We are moved by your stories, your courage, and your advocacy. We know it isn’t easy to speak up, but hundreds of you have. And we thank you so much for coming together and fighting for the services that save lives.
This Mother’s Day, we recommit ourselves to the fight for a health-first approach to overdose. No more mothers, and no more families, should have to bear the grief of losing a loved one to overdose.
