Our NHS needs us right now, but lots of people are under financial pressure at the moment. If you can’t donate right now we TOTALLY understand. We'll keep asking you to take other actions. If you are able to donate, I’m asking you to please consider setting up a regular donation today - because I know you care about our NHS.
Dear
John
,
I’m writing today to ask you to donate £5 a month to get Serco out of OUR NHS.
It’s unacceptable that a shady outsourcing company with a history of fraud has been put in charge of contact tracing - and is already failing.
We need YOUR support to scrap Serco so we can save lives, hug our loved ones again and start taking back our NHS from the privatisers.
Last week we launched a campaign to end Serco’s contract. Already 23,000 of you have signed the petition - amazing!
The campaign is supported by Keep Our NHS Public, Health Campaigns Together, Defend Our NHS, Unite, Just Treatment, Nurses United, Doctors for the NHS, 999 Call for the NHS, NEF, Compass and NHS Support Federation, as well as public health experts Allyson Pollock and John Ashton.
We're all in agreement: the way to get out of lockdown safely and save lives is to put local public health teams and local health services (including GPs and NHS labs) back in charge of testing and contact tracing in the community.
We need 160 people to set up a regular donation of £5 a month so we can run a strong campaign to kick Serco out.
Will you be one of the people we rely on to make this happen?
If you believe in an NHS that is in public ownership, you’re in the majority – 84% of us want our NHS to work for people not profit.
But Serco’s CEO wants to ‘cement the position of the private sector’ and health secretary Matt Hancock keeps going out of his way to thank private companies for their work. Meanwhile, it's a little known fact that junior health minister Edward Argar used to work as Head of Public Affairs at Serco.
Don't let them get away with this.
Help us raise £800 a month to run this campaign for 6 months, so we can keep going until we win.
Donate now, let's defend our NHS. Every penny counts.
Lives depend on getting this right but Serco has already messed up, sharing data by accident, leaving workers unclear about their role and testing only a tiny proportion of people.
This campaign will push hard for the right solution of local, public sector, public health and NHS track and trace.
It will also prove that the private sector keeps failing our NHS and show clearly that there is an alternative. It will highlight the corruption in this government and show we won’t stand for it - we want our NHS back.
The NHS’s birthday is coming up on 5th July. Let's say thank you by scrapping Serco and then getting all private companies out of our NHS.Â
We need to scrap Serco asap. So the deadline for this fundraiser is next Wednesday 17th June.
Once we’ve received your kind donation, we’ll jump into action:
Planning an NHS birthday to remember for the 5th July - this is a huge chance to show that we need to end NHS privatisation, with creative, impactful actions, putting Serco in the spotlight
Highlighting Serco's failings - from asylum accommodation to schools to prisons
Carrying out new polling to prove how the public feels about Serco
Building alliances with MPs, journalists and public health experts like Independent SAGE to build support for the alternative of local public health teams who can map infections properlyÂ
Your regular donation will make this work possible.
