John,
We know that moms are the backbone of our communities and we believe that supporting moms is about more than greeting cards and flowers once a year. It’s about the action we take year-round.
That’s why your CT Dems are dedicated to ensuring the moms in our communities have the support and resources they need to thrive. Over the past year, our state has made significant strides implementing policies
Connecticut families need. And thanks to grassroots supporters like you, we’ve made real progress:
Expanding Paid Leave: Connecticut's Paid Leave program now offers up to 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents, ensuring that mothers can care for their newborns without financial strain.
Affordable Childcare: CT Dems have proposed a $300 million Universal Preschool Endowment, aiming to make preschool more accessible and affordable for families across Connecticut.
Maternal Health Equity: Legislation has been passed to address maternal health disparities, including the establishment of a perinatal mental health task force and annual maternity care report cards to promote accountability and improve outcomes for all mothers.
From one mom to another, thank you for making Connecticut a better place for all of us.
Sincerely,
Sarah Locke
