By instilling in me the importance of education and perseverance, my mother has helped mold me into the woman I am today. Without her, I would not be in this position, serving as the Congresswoman for Ohio’s 11th District. I am eternally indebted to her for the example she set for me.
Thanks to my mother’s example, I have never allowed the barriers I’ve encountered to stop me from pursuing my goals and blazing my own path. Having her as a role model has inspired me to fight to ensure everyone has access to opportunities, regardless of their background, every day.
