The two shootings in Dayton and El Paso still weigh heavily on our minds. Across the country, Americans are demanding answers for how we stop tragedies like these from ever happening again.

We have some of those answers — in the form of universal background checks, red flag laws, and common sense gun safety measures. What we need now is a Congress with the courage to pass those regulations.

Here’s some good news on that front — a recent NPR poll found overwhelming support for red flag laws even from Republicans:

Democrats in Congress have already done their job and sent a bill to the Senate, but McConnell is refusing to allow a vote. Will you sign your name here to demand McConnell take action to prevent any more bloodshed?

Americans are tired of inaction. For years, we’ve allowed the NRA to use our broken campaign finance system to block any real action on gun violence.

No more. If we can muster an overwhelming grassroots response — with thousands of people who are ready to take on the NRA, and change this country for the better — McConnell can’t keep up the charade.

In solidarity,
