Today is a day to celebrate Mothers.

I am certainly grateful for my own Mother, who endured countless basketball and football games, always supported me, and loved and cared for me in ways seen and unseen.

(Granted, I, of course made it easy - being, of course, a model child who was always obedient, respectful, responsible, and had no concept of trouble, of course…)

My greatest gift to my children is their mother, an incredible woman who has blessed me with four very different children. Her love for them is a constant comfort to them and one of the greatest factors shaping them into who they are meant to be.

(Unlike me, of course, they do not always make it easy)

While we celebrate these incredible women in our lives, we also must turn our attention to the Creator.

God designed Mothers. He designed them biologically to carry and birth life, but He also designed them in such a wonderfully complimentary way to bless their children.

The reaction my wife has to various boo boos, “crises,” quarrels, joys, or struggles is frequently fundamentally different than mine. She sees things I don’t. She understands aspects of our children I don’t. She loves them, reaches them, and connects with them in ways I cannot.

As important as I am to my children and as important as I need to be to them - I am an incomplete picture, inadequate on my own, and incapable of providing what my wife can for them.

That’s because God uniquely and wonderfully designed her to be a Mom.

This is why the Left desperately works to undermine Motherhood and use absurdities like “birthing persons.” It is not simply an attack on individual women. It is an attack on the God who perfectly designed women to pre a unique and distinct presence in the lives of their children. It’s an attack on the Giver of a great gift.

As you celebrate Mothers today, celebrate them all-the-better by recognizing that they come from the Lord, a perfect design by the King.

To all the faithful Mothers out there, THANK YOU and may God bless you beyond measure for your faithfulness in your high calling.

Wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day,
