Coronavirus chaos in Georgia, Wisconsin a 'warning sign' for Democrats - Politico
John,
It really feels like the country is starting to wake up to the urgency around the dire need to pivot to vote-by-mail. It's like Groundhog Day with voters in Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, and South Carolina being forced to wait hours in line for their voices to be heard.
This is unacceptable and exactly why we created Vote From Home 2020. I truly believe that grassroots power can solve this problem. With your contribution, we'll send mail-in ballot applications directly to voters in swing states so we can avoid putting voters' health and right to vote at risk.
We are up against a clock and every day that passes makes it less likely that "dual-risk" voters will be reached.
Vote From Home 2020 is sending appications directly to voters who are the most likely to contract COVID-19 and the least likely to request mail-in ballots. It's critical that we reach these people early and ensure they are able to vote-by-mail.
As Politico reports: "Coronavirus spreads more easily in densely populated urban areas -- where Democrats tend to outnumber Republicans -- and has proved to be more deadly to African Americans and Hispanics, who vote for Democrats by bigger margins. On top of that one-two punch, the threat of coronavirus has led to precinct closures that load up voters at combined polling stations, often in urban or Democratic areas."
These are the exact voters we're reaching out to.
It's time to mobilize now. We need to send applications to "dual-risk" voters and then follow-up with calls and texts. I need you to join me in this fight. Grassroots fundraising is how we'll get the job done.
I hate that the predictions for access to the ballot box in November are so bleak. I want to be able to send you emails that talk about the thousands of voters who registered to vote-by-mail because of our efforts. That's possible if we reach our grassroots fundraising goals.
Best,
Suzy
